The Client
A flooring firm that provides high-quality carpeting, hardwood and other material solutions to businesses as well as residential clients. The flooring supplier also offers installation services for large gathering-related needs (e.g. auto shows, trade expositions, conferences, conventions, galas, etc.).

The Problem
In its time, Microsoft Dynamics SL was truly a dynamic enterprise resource management software solution. It boasted a plethora of functionalities, including finance, project accounting, distribution, and field service, this last one being particularly conducive to this client's day-to-day business needs.

The Result
Fairly shortly after implementation, the client started experiencing the results it wanted. This was particularly evident in its use of the financial reporting module. With Microsoft Dynamics SL, accounting was all handled manually, both in terms of logging data and extracting it. With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, they were able to generate the reports they had always wanted automatically, which has minimized errors and allowed the client to handle other, more value-added tasks.

The client's data entry and reporting capabilities were also streamlined after The TM Group configured dimensional codes in Business Central that allowed users to tag and report on transactions more easily, doing in seconds what SL required hours of manually data massaging to complete.
