Are You A Microsoft Dynamics GP Orphan?

Is your company using Microsoft Dynamics GP, but you don’t feel you are getting the guidance and support you need?  You may be a “Dynamics GP orphan”.

In the fall of 2016, Microsoft released its new Cloud-based ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution, Dynamics 365, to much fanfare. Microsoft encouraged all of its Dynamics Partners to focus their efforts to promote it. As a result, many Microsoft Dynamics Partners assigned their senior consultants to work with the new offering.

But what about companies that had already invested in Microsoft Dynamics GP and were not in the market for a new system? They still needed guidance and support to make the most of their investment.

Often these companies were assigned to less experienced consultants. And sometimes they lost their consultants when bigger Partners acquired smaller Partners and focused their efforts and expertise on Dynamics 365.

What are GP users to do?

Microsoft Dynamics GP users needed a place to turn for guidance and support. Some became active on the GP User Group forums. GPUG is a fantastic community, full of useful suggestions and resources, and we appreciate users taking ownership of their systems. But, self-support is not enough. At the very least, you have a business to run. You may have neither the time, the inclination, nor the expertise to be your own technical and functional consultant. You need a Partner who specializes in the software you already own: Dynamics GP. A Dynamics GP expert will not only fix individual problems but evaluate your entire system and show you how it could work better for your organization.

When we realized that so many Dynamics GP customers were in the position of “orphans,” we decided to go against the trend and keep our primary focus on Dynamics GP.

We continue to sell Dynamics GP to new customers when it is the right fit, but our main focus is helping companies that have already invested in Dynamics GP get the most out of their investment.
