Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations provides a full management system to meet more detailed business needs and is considered a Tier-1 ERP solution. This solution is ideal for organizations with complex business structures, extensive collections requirements and procedures, and detailed budgeting requirements or advanced auditing compliance needs, for example.
Which one should I choose for my organization?
As both solutions are cloud-based, they could be good options if your organization is looking to migrate to the cloud or if your current system no longer meets your current needs. A cloud-based ERP solution offers many benefits, from eliminating the need to manage your infrastructure to cost predictability thanks to monthly payments. Both also integrate to other Dynamics 365 modules such as Sales, Marketing, and Talent to expand the range of features and possibilities offered by your solution and ensure that all aspects of your organization are managed from a single platform.
One of the main differences between Business Central and Finance and Operations is the type of organizations they are designed for. Business Central is more suited to SMBs and tier-2 businesses looking for an end-to-end solution for the complete management of their operations, while Finance and Operations is geared towards larger businesses with more advanced and complex needs.
