Microsoft Teams: Perfect for Businesses Using Dynamics 365 ERP
As a Microsoft Office 365 product, Microsoft Teams integrates with other Microsoft products like Dynamics 365 ERP, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and more.
If your business is already using Dynamics 365, your employees likely have plenty of experience collaborating with Microsoft applications like Microsoft To Do and SharePoint. But Teams takes this collaboration to the next level. With Teams, employees can communicate via chat messages and video meetings, easily provide one another with status updates, and track group progress on shared tasks.
The Teams Application
The Teams application is available for both desktop and mobile, and can also be accessed via a web browser. The mobile app is especially useful for team members on the go, as it can be configured to deliver push notifications for chat messages, upcoming video meetings, file sharing, and more.
Within the desktop or web app, users can see their upcoming meetings on their Calendar, communicate with other team members via Chats, join meetings, access the files they need for various projects, and get a quick overview of what’s happening within a particular Office 365 Group. By updating your Teams status, you can let other team members know when you’re in a meeting or otherwise unavailable.
Scheduling Meetings with Teams
Scheduling a meeting in Teams is quick and easy. From the Calendar screen, simply select the day and time for the meeting, enter the relevant meeting information, choose the attendees you’d like to invite, and click Send. Not sure when the prospective attendees are free? Use the Teams Scheduling Assistant to see when they’re available. Once you click Send, Attendees will receive a meeting notification in their Outlook inbox as well as within the Teams application.
Want to set up a Teams Meeting in Outlook? When creating a meeting in your Outlook Calendar, simply click the Teams Meeting button in the top ribbon.
Using the Teams Chat Feature
With Teams Chat, all of your chat conversations are kept in a single easy to access location. In addition to standard chat functionality, Teams Chat lets you share files, search through your chat history, set up group chats for collaboration on the fly. You can even view a contact’s position within your organization’s structure.
When a meeting is starting, Teams will send you a push notification to let you know. Teams Meetings are a secure and reliable video chat solution, offering added functionality such as automatic speech-to-text captioning, background blur, whiteboard and screen sharing, and call recording capabilities. A standard Teams Meeting can host up to 1,000 attendees, giving large organizations plenty of flexibility for holding calls.
Depending on which Office 365 Groups you’re a member of, you’ll have access to those groups’ Channels within the Teams application. Teams Channels provide group members with access to group chat messages, file sharing, and the ability to make important documents and files available as saved tabs for easy access.
