AKA Enterprise Solutions Sponsors 7th Annual Lunch for LifeWorks

At AKA, we work hand-in-hand as a strategic IT partner for non-profit organizations of all types. These kinds of projects are always engaging, putting our IT skills to the test. On top of this, though, we love having the chance to assist these organizations we admire with the important work that they do. It’s a privilege to be able to collaborate with such hard-working, talented individuals. And when the opportunity arises, we go the extra mile in offering these organizations our support.


That’s why on April 18th, 2019, AKA was proud to support one of our clients, LifeWorks, as both a sponsor and attendee of the non-profit’s largest yearly event, the 7th Annual Lunch for LifeWorks.


LifeWorks’ mission is to give young people and families the chance to achieve self-sufficiency. What sets LifeWorks apart in their work is their focus on achieving tangible and sustainable results for the people they serve. LifeWorks’ innovative approach enables them to make a real impact in the lives of struggling famlies and youth.



In 2018, AKA designed and implemented our Social Services Case Management for Non-Profits solution at LifeWorks. Built around Microsoft Dynamics 365, Social Services Case Management offers non-profit organizations like LifeWorks a cloud-based, integrated framework that’s designed to accurately and thoroughly keep track of clients. This makes it easy for the organization to mangage client needs, all the way from first contact to long-term follow-up services. The custom Dynamics 365 solution we implemented at LifeWorks included the tools needed for case management, giving them the ability to implement solutions for their clients in the areas of housing, employment, education, mental health, and more.


From Vision to Reality

Over the past year, LifeWorks has made great strides in their goal to turn their organizational mission into reality. LifeWorks has achieved a 24% reduction in youth homelessness as well as a 57% reduction in unsheltered youth homelessness. That’s a significant drop, particularly in such a short amount of time, and AKA is proud to have been a part of the process. Thanks to various technology solutions from AKA -- including mobile capabilities for counselors and caseworkers -- LifeWorks employees are better able to work in the field.


Thanks to our engagement with LifeWorks, AKA was named 2018 US Partner for Social Impact by Microsoft. This award is given to Microsoft Dynamics partners and cloud consultancies as a means of recognizing their work with non-profit organizations, and AKA is honored to be a 2018 US Partner for Social Impact.


At this year’s Lunch for LifeWorks, the theme “Building Up: Youth Voice” underscored the organization’s focus on ensuring that the needs of their clients are heard. As part of the luncheon, both current LifeWorks clients and donors offered testimonials relating to their experience with the organization. LifeWorks also screened a video highlighting the importance of peer support and “lived experience” and shared their vision in terms of their three main programs: Education/Workforce, Housing, and Counseling.
