Welcome to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 Feature of the Day — Comprehensive Document Attachment

Learn more about the newest updates in the Comprehensive Document Attachment feature

Throughout the next several months, we will be posting a blog series in conjunction with our sister company, Tridea Partners, highlighting the newest features that GP 2018 has to offer.

Microsoft released Dynamics GP 2018 on December 1, 2017. The new version promises to improve the user experience through a variety of enhancements. It has more focus on this user experience and user requested functions, building on the past major releases of new modules and other core functions and capabilities.

In this article, we will be taking a closer look at the Comprehensive Document Attachment feature.

What is it?

When Microsoft built Document Attachment in Dynamics GP, it relied on the user’s input to identify top scenarios that needed to be solved. In the new improved version, users do not need to look for the attachment. Instead they can find it on master record windows, inquiry windows, and transaction entry windows.

Why is it cool?

Since the focus for these updates is user experience, the new features make your business processes and procedures easier and more fluid with your system.

With this updated feature, you can now:

  • View and modify attachments in inquiry windows.
  • Drill back capability from Transnational information.

What is new in 2018?

1. Document Attachment on Receivables

2. Document Attachment on Employee Inquiry

3. Document Attachment in Employee Inquiry

4. Document Attachment in I-9 Form

5. Document Attachment in Asset General Information (FA)
