Deciding when to upgrade new Microsoft Dynamics GP software is a big decision. There are a lot of questions that spring to mind when you start thinking about upgrading:
- What am I gaining by upgrading? Are there new features that will help make me and my staff more productive?
- Will I need new hardware?
- Do I need to add more user licenses?
- How time-consuming will the upgrade be?
- Will my current software (SQL, Windows operating system and Microsoft office, etc.) be compatible?
And many more.
Today, I want to try and help you answer the first question on that list. With each release, the Dynamics GP developers add a lot of useful features to the software. But, sometimes it can be hard to keep up with them all. Especially, if you are more than one or two versions back. It usually means looking at a bunch of different documents and piecing the puzzle together, little by little.
Not anymore. Now, we’ve done a lot of the legwork for you. And, put together a single document that makes it easy to compare Dynamics GP versions. Our chart gives you a quick look at what major features have been added to each Dynamics GP release – all the way from Dynamics GP 2013 to 2016 R2. Keep in mind, this is just a high-level overview. But, should you want to dig deeper into the subject, we have included links to a variety of helpful resources.
If you're a current Dynamics GP user struggling to decide whether now is the time to upgrade, we hope it will help make the choice clearer.
