Looking back at the history of Microsoft Dynamics GP, the release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 is what solidified its place as an excellent design-driven project management tool. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2 introduced Workflow 2.0, which made it effortless to create crystal-clear project-assignments, easily track projects and build better prototypes.
While users were quick to embrace the new Workflow’s simple setup like the built-in calendar and handy maintenance tools, it lacked a method for obtaining details for each journal entry in the email messages related to pending approvals or tasks.
Now, with the current Microsoft Dynamics GP, it’s easier than ever to include as much information as you want without having to spend too much time reconfiguring the Workflow engine. It’s only natural for approvers to want as much information as possible and Microsoft has come up with a fantastic way how to deliver it.
Every Workflow batch approval now has a default Word template under the edit lists for batches in the following areas:
- General Ledger
Using these edit lists, an approver can receive complete information about the batch they are approving.
Enabling the new feature is easy: Enable Report Templates checkbox, then go to Administration > Reports > Template Configuration. You will be presented with a list of new Word templates sorted according to its respective category
- General Posting Edit List Template
- Multicurrency General Posting Edit List Template
- Budget Trx Edit List
- Clearing Edit List
- Multicurrency Clearing Edit List
- RM Sales Posting Journal Template
- MC RM Transaction Posting Journal Template
- RM Cash Posting Journal
- MC Cash Receipts Posting Journal
- Computer Checks Posting Journal Template
- Manual Payments Posting Journal Template
- MC Computer Checks Posting Journal Template
- MC Manual Payments Posting Journal Template
- PM Transaction Posting Journal Template

What’s more, the new templates function the same way as all other reports and templates do. This allows users to create a new template from an existing one which greatly saves time and improves the overall productivity of the business.
