Last week Microsoft put on another successful Convergence EMEA conference, with over 5,100 customers & partners in attendance.

The Day One keynote, delivered by Jean-Philippe Courtois and Chris Capossela, focused on Digital Transformation – Driving Today’s Business. Of the three core pieces of news (Office Enterprise value, PowerApps and CRM 2016 GA) PowerApps led the conversation with coverage focusing on its convenience ( and problem-solving capabilities ( — strengths reinforced by analysts who believe it “empowers citizen developers.” (

Chris was joined by customer Heineken, who shared their story of business productivity.

For the Day two keynote, Jean-Philippe Courtois was joined by Scott Guthrie to discuss Achieving Business Transformation through the Power of the Cloud. To help illustrate the day’s keynote theme, the senior innovation advisor to the European Commission, Robert Madelin, and marquee customers Real Madrid, Metro Bank and Temenos joined Scott and Jean-Philippe onstage. Microsoft announced the availability of Dynamics AX preview for customers and partners, Cortana Integration with Power BI, the preview of Power BI “Quick Insights” and predictive capabilities preconfigured solution for Azure IoT suite.

The final chapter in the Day three keynote was all about the customer. Starting with a story of innovation from Growing Underground, Neil Holloway hosted a morning that was about illustrating impact.


With 5,123 attendees - 26% YOY increase in attendance, Microsoft was able to make a larger impact than ever. 71% of customers were new to Convergence, 63% of the audience were business and technical leaders.
