Microsoft Convergence 2015 Wrap-Up

IMG_2110Last week, 17 Metafile employees hopped on planes and flew to Atlanta for Microsoft Convergence 2015. We enjoyed a week of great networking, beautiful weather, delicious local food, educational sessions and amazing opportunities within the Microsoft Dynamics sphere. Here were some of our highlights:

  • Day 1 Keynote: A little bit of dancing, a little bit of rocking, a little bit of football and a lot of excitement. Monday’s keynote focused on upcoming opportunities with Microsoft for business, announced by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, executive vice president Kirill Tatarinov and other Microsoft executives, as well as accomplishments of some of Microsoft’s biggest and most influential customers, including Accu Weather and Pandora. Microsoft announced the new functionality of Office 365, Skype for Business, Delve, Power BI and so much more. Plus, a performance by Dance 411 Kids Company and a surprise appearance by Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson didn’t hurt!
  • Expo Experience: Nothing beats making connections with existing customers, partners, prospects and even competitors. The expo was our chance to showcase our product’s functionality and to educate attendees on all things document management. Our experts gave demos throughout the day to give visitors an inside look at MetaViewer integrated with Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Sessions: We had the amazing opportunity to both attend sessions and present. Many of our team members attended presentations to enrich their Convergence experience and learn skills to bring back to the office with them. On the flip side, our own expert Doug Bertram presented a full demo of MetaViewer integrated with Microsoft Dynamics GP on Wednesday afternoon to a packed room of people wanting to learn how to IMG_1871go paperless in their organization. We got to both educate and be educated!
  • Atlanta: Outside of Convergence, we had a great time exploring the city of Atlanta. We enjoyed dinner (twice) at Ted’s Montana Grill, as well as at Max Lager’s. We made a dessert pit stop at the Hard Rock Café and had delicious waffles for breakfast at the Waffle House. The beautiful weather made our morning and evening walks downtown very pleasant, a welcome change from the bitter Minnesota temperatures.

No matter how hard we try, our week at Convergence and the experiences that we had cannot be summed up in just a few bullet points. Our annual participation is invaluable and we are looking forward to seeing everyone next year in New Orleans!
