Risk and compliance don’t inspire much enthusiasm during the daily grind, when other concerns tend to predominate. When compliance lapses and correlating risks get the spotlight, however, as they often do in audits, you might find they quickly take a front seat to all else.
In an effort to highlight some of these potential issues before you face a crisis, March 20, 2015 will see the third annual Dynamics GRC Day focused on governance, risk and compliance issues. IT professionals who regularly face these issues are encouraged to attend, learn, and lend their thoughts and ideas. The event will also offer four hours of CPE Credit.
With the increasing penetration of technology into all aspects of company operations, several issues have flared up again and again in the press. One is data security, especially that of private customer information. The credit card breaches of major retailers highlight this issue well. Another is HIPAA privacy, a top issue for many companies.
The event will also discuss Lifecycle Services, with the goal of helping attendees understand how solid, repeatable, reliable implementation can help reduce risk, raise accountability and streamline processes.
Other issues addressed will include access control and visibility. You should, for instance, know what your administrators are doing with their access capabilities, but do you? And do you know what they should be doing, and what they should stay away from, to best reduce your risk and stay in compliance?
