The continual development and commitment to this popular Enterprise Solution by Microsoft has resulted in the latest release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV called Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015.  Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 is here with many new enhancements designed to help your small to medium sized business streamline day-to-day operations and get more from your ERP system.  Quick to implement, easy to use and powerful functionality , Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 is designed to help your company reach its goals.

User Experience Enhancements:  With an even more intuitive RoleTailored user interface, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 ERP  helps your company  by making data entry on pages faster by showing mandatory input fields (Mandatory Field).

In addition, NAV offers faster processing by automatically filling in document numbers (Auto-fill, No. field), along with easier review of documents such as orders, invoices, and credit memos by hiding totals shown on the page.

These new user interface enhancement are designed to increase productivity by only showing what is relevant to the user, depending on user permission sets and license.

Furthermore, to present striking operational Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards that improve decision making and focus actions, the Role Center now can show special cue tiles that apply custom formatting to any computed numerical value.  NAV dashboards can show an indicator that changes color based on the data values that the tile reflects (Enhanced Cues).

There are preset "defined" roles that are easily customizable in Microsoft Dynamics NAV such as: Sales Order Processor, Bookkeeper, Sales Manager, Owner, plus many more. In addition, you can create our own "Role" for the tasks that are most appropriate for your job function.

That didn’t address the question, it was just a sales pitch that essentially said we would be dependent on ‘partners’ for reporting and one-off downloads.

Can a non-programmer, non-ISV ‘partner’ create and run their OWN reports and queries? And I’m not talking about playing with Excel, I mean create actual reports, that we can add to our RTC screens, to run ourselves directly from NAV.

  2. Thanks for your comment. To answer your question, both! The Microsoft Dynamics NAV system has a reputation of being easily to use and customize, so much so, there are over 2,000 ISV solution partners just for this one ERP system. In addition, this latest revision of NAV, has more reporting capabilities as well.

when you write “easily customizable”, is the easy for the programmers? or easy for the users themselves?

What I’ve seen is Microsoft making it MORE DIFFICULT for mere mortal users to customize things. Nevermind how hard it has become to create custom reports and downloads.
