The new release of Microsoft Dynamics GP will be coming later this year, and in anticipation, Microsoft has launched their Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 Feature of the Day blog. This is where they will be discussing the new functionality they've been hard at work developing for the next release.
Microsoft's Pam Misialek writes that "this release will focus on four big rocks with lots of little pebbles thrown in," meaning four major enhancements to Microsoft Dynamics GP, along with many smaller features. The four "big rocks" are as follows:
- Service Based Architecture
- Identity Management
- Azure Procurement
- Applications (Apps) on Multiple Platforms
The blog has introduced four of the nine new Workflow 2.0 workflow types that will be available in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015:
- General Ledger Batch Approval
- Payables Batch Approval
- Receivables Batch Approval
- Vendor Approval
These workflows enable users to create workflow processes which need to be completed before defined document processes. The workflow status appears in the window, and actions can be taken from that window, from an email, or from a Navigation List.
These workflow types are also planned to be added for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015:
- Project Expense Approval
- Direct Deposit Approval
- Employee Skills and Training Approval
- Employee Profile Approval
- W4 Approval
The blog has also introduced another new feature, Invoicing in the Web Client. But these are the "pebbles." Microsoft has yet to give out details on the "big rocks" that will do the most to make the best business management system even better.
