Using Mobile Devices Alongside Workflow Software

Email | Print

It seems as though Smartphones are getting smarter and people really love their Smartphones and tablets. Today’s mobile devices are so convenient and useful that people are offering to use their gadgets at work. Why not take advantage of the added mobility, your employee’s love for their Smartphones and tablets, and add workflow functionality? You can boost productivity and improve consistency by using workflow applications on mobile devices.

Mobile devices enable workers to react to customer needs, questions, and complete tasks in the very moment they occur. You don’t have to wait for the laptop to load up or click around to enter the business management software on the computer. With just a finger swipe, you can find the business app on the Smartphone and start tapping around until to find the data you need or enter the data directly from the customer’s mouth. Not only is this a huge time-saver, most people are so familiar with their Smartphones and tablets that they are far more comfortable using those devices than a cumbersome laptop.

Some Workflow software applications, such as U-LINC® by Integrity Data, can be used with mobile devices, enabling your team to stay connected while they are out of the office. Workflows introduce automation and consistency into any task you choose to define in the application. U-LINC offers pre-configured workflows for common tasks involving financials, accounts payable and receivable, compliance, payroll and human resources, and you can build your own workflows for other important scenarios. You can have key employees receive notifications after a step is imitated or completed in a workflow. For example, when accounting receives a customer payment or needs to change a customer credit limit, a manager or sales representative can receive notification requesting approval or denial of that request. Instead of walking up and down the hallway or picking up the phone, the manager can respond to that request on their mobile device, with comments or further instructions. The automation offered by U-LINC will reduce common communication bottlenecks and delays that occur with busy executives or sales representatives who are on the road and meeting with customers.

More business solutions are being tailored toward mobile devices, because important business activities often take place outside of the traditional office. Boost the productivity of your team and respond faster to customer needs with mobile software applications like U-LINC. Contact Integrity Data for more information about U-LINC and capturing the power behind mobile devices.

Mobile integration with ERP products is a MUST for the 21st century as we move toward a more active tech-workforce. Not only is the software we use for mobile important, but the hardware is too; durability and reliability are a must.

Safety and security should also be a big part of the conversation, too. We recently wrote about the potential dangers of mobile ERP technology on our blog page, feel free to take a look and let us know what you think.
