Don’t You Wish Your Data Came In This Fast?

Email | Print

During the busiest shopping weekend of the year, preliminary results were being tallied to judge the level of retailers’ success.  Studies were released about whether opening stores on Thanksgiving day was worthwhile, how Black Friday sales compared to last year, as well as results of Cyber Monday shopping.  Can you access and analyze your data this fast?

Reading media reports over the Thanksgiving weekend was probably eye-opening.  There were reports on the number of shoppers who went out after Thanksgiving dinner, “Black Friday” sales figures, and by Tuesday morning, the Cyber Monday data was available.  If researchers can combine such vast amounts of data in such a short period of time, then why is it so difficult for one company to come up with a much smaller volume of data just as fast?  Getting your hands on business data has a lot to do with your technology.

Using disparate solutions makes it harder to get to data because the data is usually located on computers scattered throughout the office.  Waiting for a colleague to share important data at a weekly update meeting or by email is inefficient.  Once you get the data you need, it could be old, which can lead to mistakes.  It’s also often one-sided.  For example, inventory counts may not come with corresponding financials to indicate which items yield higher profits, or sales figures to indicate which items are selling better than others.

You can have a much better view of your data, in real-time, when using an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.  An integrated ERP solution offers the ability to manage all of your core business operations from a single software solution, including financials, supply chain, manufacturing, project and services management, human resources and payroll, and more.  With all of your data in one location, you don’t need to walk the office halls looking for the right data from the right person.  Also, because ERP is integrated throughout your organization, you can have an in-depth view of ALL of your data.  From the convenience of your own computer, and in many cases on mobile devices, you can review data and identify trends in profitability, productivity, and customer demands.

Don’t wait for your business data to come to you, get the data you need, when you need it by using a robust ERP solution.  Contact Associates Solutions, Inc. for more information about using an ERP solution to get accurate data, in record time.
