Emailing and Flowing Document Attachments with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 SP2

Previously we discussed Document Attachment and how it can be used to link documents to areas in Dynamics GP, and also how it saves those documents in the SQL database for future reference.

With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 SP 2; the ability to email these attachments has been added to the system. The Document Attachment setup window now includes additional options and one of the nicest features is the ability to allow attached documents to be emailed.

Once the option “Send Attachments in Email” is selected, any documents that have been attached to the GP system can be emailed with Sales and Purchasing transactions.  Need to include an attached document with a Sales Order you plan to email? Now you can with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 SP2.

With SP 2 there are other features for Document Attach as well.  Documents can be set up to “flow” throughout the system.  So if you have a terms and conditions document attached to a specific vendor ID, with the new “flow” feature, that document can automatically “flow” to any new transactions created for that vendor.
