Book Review: Developing Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Applications by Leslie Vail

If you haven’t read Leslie Vail’s new book, Developing Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Applications, you are missing out on a great book and resource tool! As a Dynamics GP end user, I didn't know how much I would benefit from this book and I was quite surprised about how helpful it was. I especially enjoyed her sense of humor throughout.

Personally, my favorite chapter was Code-Free Customization. It includes how everyone could benefit from the tools that are already in Dynamics GP: Smartlist Builder, Excel Report Builder, Drill-Down Builder and Extend. I had the chance to actually test out some of her examples, on my own, and they worked! To be honest, I was surprised, due to the fact that generally when you read something in a book and try it out on your own—it doesn't work.

Developing Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Applications is a great resource for any Dynamics GP end user’s library. I 100% recommend this book to anyone who is contemplating making that step into Dexterity.
