Convergence 2013 Offers More Expo Time Than Convergence 2012

Every year our Dynamics GP Clients (and prospective clients) who attend Convergence say that time in the Expo Center, talking to the hundreds of ISV vendors that support Dynamics with add on products, is a major highlight of the experience.

“I came to the 2010 Microsoft Convergence to check out the ISV Expo.  I just signed on with GP and we haven’t gone live yet, but I knew that there were other aspects that I needed to use on top of GP and the expo has been a great way for me to see what else is out there and find what will plug and play right inside.” Jon, Convergence 2012 attendee

As I discussed in my previous post, Big Changes to Convergence 2013 Agenda – Better or Worse?, this year the Convergence planning committee made a major change to the agenda.  But one great thing about this change is that it includes 2.5 additional hours of Expo time.

If you compare the Convergence 2012 agenda to Convergence 2013 agenda you will see:

Convergence 2012 expo time:

Sunday: 5.5 hours
Monday: 6.5 hours
Tuesday: 6.0 hours
Wednesday: 4.5 hours
Total: 22.5 Hours

Convergence 2013 expo time:

Monday: 9.5 hours
Tuesday 5.0 hours
Wednesday 6.0 hours
Thursday 4.5 hours
Total: 25 Hours

To be honest, many of our Dynamics GP consultants that attend Convergence find that they spend the majority of their time in the Expo talking to ISV vendors, and rarely make it to any of the training sessions.

A full price registration to Convergence 2013 is $1,795. But did you know you can buy an Expo only pass for $695? According the Convergence 2013 registration page this Convergence Experience Center Pass “includes admission ONLY to the Convergence Experience Center (which includes the Expo Experience, Microsoft Solutions Experience, and Community Experience areas), conference meals and the Convergence Experience Reception (Monday evening), during posted hours. Note: This pass does NOT provide access to keynotes, sessions, Convergence Celebration (Thursday evening), or Virtual Convergence content.”

One of our clients who is a Convergence alumni said, “At Convergence I can talk to all of the vendors who could possibly assist in improving our system in a very short period of time.  I’m too busy to be calling multiple vendors over several months.  Instead, I walk in with a list of questions and I walk out with a list of solutions. Attending Convergence is the best way I can spend my time.”

For this client, it would be worth the travel cost and $695 pass just to attend the ISV Expo. Many of our favorite ISV products for Microsoft Dynamics GP will be represented at Convergence 2013. The expo sponsor list for Convergence 2013 is still pending but check out the Convergence 2012 expo sponsors to get an idea of who will be there.
