Cloud Enabled Microsoft Dynamics ERP Making Headway this Year

Email | Print

At Convergence 2012, Microsoft announced that the upcoming releases of Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 will be cloud enabled through the Azure platform.  That’s right. You will soon have the option to deploy your enterprise resource planning (ERP) software via the cloud, on-premises, hosted by your Microsoft partner, or with a hybrid solution involving any combination of those options.

The Windows Azure platform is a flexible, secure cloud solution that enables users to build, deploy, and manage applications on a reliable network of Microsoft-managed datacenters.  The Azure platform will enable you to use your ERP software without having to worry about infrastructure, downtime, hardware investments, or storage limitations.  You can still operate your new releases of Microsoft Dynamics ERP software on-premises if you need to integrate with legacy software or use your own hardware.  Your Microsoft partner can also provide hosting services to minimize the initial costs for new hardware or software, plus you can deploy faster with fewer IT resources.  No matter how you choose deploy, you can be assured that your Microsoft partner can help you get your ERP software up and running quickly and cost-effectively.

All four ERP offerings are intended to be available using the Azure cloud platform with each product’s new release.  This phased process is slated to begin with a beta release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 as early as May 2012 and a full version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 during the fourth quarter of this year.

Microsoft continues to deliver an array of options to enable you to chose software and deployment options that best suit your business needs now, and that are flexible enough to deliver long-term value as business needs change.  Contact Sikich for more information about the ERP software or deployment options that can best drive your business.
