Microsoft Convergence – Then and Now

Email | Print

The 2012 Microsoft Convergence conference gets underway this weekend               (March 17-21) in Houston, with expected attendance to top 8,000.  As the Convergence landing page indicates: Convergence is where opportunity and innovation meet to deliver real business value. It’s the chance to make key business connections and to discover the full potential of Microsoft Dynamics solutions.

Ten years ago, Microsoft hosted Convergence 2002, in Orlando, its first since acquiring Great Plains in 2001. The tag line that year:   Convergence 2002 is a forum for attendees to network, learn and share their knowledge. There were 3000 in attendance that year (I was there!)

The very first Convergence conference  in 1996 attracted 100 attendees (I was there!)  The theme -  I for sure can’t remember (does anyone?- if so please comment), but I am positive it had something to do with networkng and knowledge sharing.

Throughout the years Convergence has proven to be an incredible gathering of people and knowledge, with takeaways and professional relationships that last years. Knowledge sharing is always in vogue and Convergence represents an unequalled  venue for information exchange.

If you are going this year, please find me and say hello.  If you are not going, follow the blogs and tweets.

And be sure to save the date for Convergence 2013!
