Email | Print

In order to choose the Best ERP Software Package, companies need to understand that both ERP systems share similar characteristics. However, the most important piece is to know what makes them different and which one of their particularities fits best your company needs.

Based on a basic research, below is a list of distinctions between Dynamics GP and NAV to help companies to identify the best solution for their needs.

Microsoft Dynamics GP:

  • For small and mid-sized organizations, this is a right-out-of-the-box solution, relatively low-cost and easier to get up and running; It is  fairly easy to learn and use. All of these characteristics make this application a fast return on investment solution.
  • It is a better option for straight up accounting/finance. Many add-ons are available, but it’s not as easily customizable as NAV.
  • The regional markets for Great Plains are English-speaking regions like United States, United Kingdom, Canada: both English and French speaking, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and other English speaking countries in Asia, Africa and Worldwide, plus Spanish Speaking Latin America and Mexico.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV:

  • This is one of the most cost-effective solutions on the market today for growing mid-sized businesses. Microsoft Dynamics NAV offers multi-currency and an impressive multi-language capability is available in more than 40 country versions, making it the appropriate solution for any international implementation.
  • In addition to core financials, the solution is particularly strong in the areas of warehouse management, supply chain, and manufacturing functionality; it is highly customizable and adaptable to specific industry needs. The product is not scalable for larger enterprises and was not designed with centralized corporate control and processes in mind.
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV has very good presence in Europe, including East Europe: Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia. Microsoft also localized NAV for new markets, where it just moved in Brazil.
