You’ve heard about it – now what exactly is Microsoft Office 365? Microsoft Office 365 brings the power of cloud productivity to their most recognized communications products. Microsoft Office 365 includes:

  • Microsoft Office The world’s leading productivity tool on the desktop (Office Professional Plus) and on the Web (Office Web Apps) now seamlessly connected and delivered with cloud services – for the best productivity experience across the PC, Phone, and Browser.
  • SharePoint Online Cloud-based service for creating sites to connect colleagues, partners, and customers.  Includes enterprise social networking and customization options.

This is a pretty exciting service offering that is in beta right now with availability scheduled for sometime in 2011. There is a version for small businesses with pricing starting at as low as $6 per user per month. There are more options available for larger companies with the enterprise version such as $2 per month for hosted email, and going up to $27 per user per month for the most full-featured option.
