Being in the ERP industry for the past 10 years, I have seen what happens when a company chooses the wrong ERP software reseller. Many times the software itself was the right fit, but the implementation was done poorly. This can lead to poor utilization of a major investment of time and money, and leads to not fully realizing Return on Investment. Therefore it is crucial you pick the right Value Added Reseller from the start.

When selecting a Dynamics GP partner, make sure there are at least 3 consultants on staff, that these consultants are fully certified and receive yearly training on the product, and that there is at least one person dedicated to support. Make sure you select a partner with at least 50 clients, and make sure the references check out okay.

Additionally, what sort of background does the firm have? Is their focus primarily technology, or do they have an accounting background? You should also consider the firm’s commitment to its clients. Do they regularly hold User Groups on the product?
