Sneak Peek: Microsoft Dynamics GP “11” (GP 2010)

Email | Print

What can you expect?  A whole lot of enhancements! With all the buzz and two years of R&D around Dynamics GP 11 or “GP 2010” you can be sure that it will not disappoint.

If you have been waiting to upgrade to a new Great Plains software version or you are evaluating new accounting systems – make sure you take a look at GP 2010.  One major enhancement will be the replacement of Report Writer with a more user-friendly reporting tool using .NET capabilities which will provide drill-down capabilities back into the software, similar to FRx.   Dynamics GP 9.0 already uses SQL reporting services and excel-based reports, but Dynamics GP 2010 takes it one step further –for the better.

Here are a few more new features in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) 11 that you can look forward to:

  • Microsoft Dynamics Online Connect – a new feature that allows you to view reminders as visual cues and multiple metrics on the page.
  • New Navigation Pane – showing you the series buttons and associate lists for modules that are marked in the registration window allowing you to clean up the amount of options you need to sift through when working with your navigation lists.
  • What’s New – right click in a text or numeric field to see a shortcut menu. This shortcut menu contains options from the Edit menu.
  • Automatic login – you now have the option to log on to Great Plains and default, or favorite, a company automatically.

There’s plenty more to come.  For more information on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 – register for Microsoft Convergence 2010, or contact a local Microsoft Dynamics GP Gold Partner.  View a full list of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Partners here.
