title="Dynamics Cost" href="http://www.customis.com/business-application/quick-quote.aspx">Dynamics GP Quick Quote option to our website. Prospective customers have changed the way that they shop for new business software. Searching the Internet and finding quick answers is fast becoming the new prequalification process and the standard of our industry.

Completing quick quotes, researching software and providers is a good start in getting a good idea of your investment in a new system. Keep in mind that depending on your industry and business requirements, this research should be only a start. Finding the right software provider or reseller to assist you in a final software selection has not been replaced by the Internet. There is nothing like a personal connection and discussing business requirements with an experienced software vendor like CIS and me of course!

With this said, I think it is important to explain my sales process. I think this is important to explain to new prospects too so that they understand that there is a valid process to selling them a Microsoft Dynamics GP solution. We want our customers to be very happy during and after implementation.

Qualification

Is your business in an industry that we are familiar with and have customers happily using the software?

Do you have a business need and reasons to replace your current solution?

Do you have a budget in mind?

What is your timeframe?

Discovery (understanding your business needs)

Meeting to discuss your business issues and pains. What are your long term goals?

Development of the solution; Dynamics GP, any ISV products, scope of the project

Budgetary proposal

Solution Presentation

Product demonstration with your management team

Review solution to ensure it is still on target for your business needs

Determine deployment options and preferences (cloud, hosted, on-premise)

Final quote

Reference Checks

Close

You write the deposit check or we setup financing

Project Begins

It is a good idea to complete quick quote forms, complete vendor and software research too. However, once you have picked a couple of software packages you like, then you also need to find a good reseller or provider to help you finish the evaluation.

Altico Advisors

Everyone has seen the now iconic Staples “easy” button. Pretty ingenious marketing if you ask me. But think about it for a moment. It’s just a prop. It’s not a button that actually connects to anything. Still, people love it. We have one at our front desk. And I’m not even sure why since we order our office supplies from W.B. Mason.

Anyone who sees that little red dome with the word “easy” in big white letters immediately conjures up Staples in their minds. You couldn’t ask for better exposure.

On every page of the Altico Advisors Web site, we have a lovely blue button that actually connects to something. It says, in white letters, Get an Instant GP Quote. And when you click on it, it actually takes you to a page where you can fill in a minimum amount of information and get, as promised, an instant Microsoft Dynamics GP quote based on the parameters you specified.

That’s what I call really easy!

I’d like to think that the next iconic button belongs to Altico Advisors. Admittedly, I’m a dreamer. Let’s look at the reality. Staples has 178,535 followers on Twitter. Altico (@AlticoAdvisors) has…well let’s just say fewer than that. So it may take us a while to become a household name. On the other hand, Microsoft is a household name and we’re a Microsoft Dynamics Gold Certified Partner, which clearly counts for something.

If you’re evaluating accounting/ERP systems for your company, Microsoft Dynamics GP should be on your list. It’s well priced for the mid-market, integrates with Outlook and with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, offers full functionality for a broad range of industries, and is being successfully run by some 350,000 companies representing 5 million users around the globe.

Bottom line, you’re invited to visit us and click on our blue button to get an instant Microsoft Dynamics GP quote 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I’ll be watching for you!

Submitted by Altico Advisors, <a

Whether your company has grown or the business processes have changed, or the system you currently use is old and no longer a fit, you want to make sure the right system is chosen. My next blog will discuss ways to insure that you get what you need, but for now let’s discuss the ever important cost versus return.

As with all capital purchases, you are going to hear a lot on the features and functionality of the system and how it will help meet and exceed your needs. The sales team will indicate that their system will invariably be the right one to lead you into the future. All this information will be given and you will be wondering the age old question of “How much is this going to cost?” When you are finally given a number, it will be broken into many pieces: Software, Hardware, Implementation, Training, Customizations, Maintenance, Managed Services and so on. Ideally the ground work will have been laid properly and no one suffers the dreaded sticker shock.

At this point in the process, you don’t want to be deciding if you can afford the system based on price. Trying to fit a system into a budget will cause more problems. I don’t mean to suggest you shouldn’t negotiate, you should, but not at the expense of features or services. It will cost you a lot more in the long run if you do not do the implementation properly from the start. As with any large purchase, taking the time up front to do some research will provide you the luxury to base your decision on business value rather than price. The research up front should be around the return on investment of the project. There are plenty of ROI tools available on the internet, my favorite is an Alinean tool. When looking at ROI, do some digging outside of the standard areas of personnel, time saving and hardware costs. Your business partner can help you identify some additional areas of ROI that you may have overlooked.
When done properly, the ROI on a project can help you make the go/no-go decision properly and leave you feeling better about your choice.

By <a
