Sometimes the most difficult part about switching to a new ERP system is getting the support of the people in your organization who are in charge of the money. For them a little incentive goes a long way. Microsoft recognizes that business reality and has begun to offer incentives to users of competing ERP systems.
According to this ZDnet.com article, The “switchers” program offers customers interested in switching to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 a 50 percent license discount if they are switching from Lawson S3 or M3 financial management software. Furthermore, Microsoft partners who successfully convert Lawson certified consultants to Dynamics AX 2012 certification can receive revenue credit.
Lawson was recently acquired by Info Global Solutions by way of Golden Gate Capital, and with any acquisition, there is always movement, change, and uncertainty for customers using the company’s products. Therefore, Microsoft’s “switchers” program is also a way to offer Lawson S3 and M3 users a way out of what could be a sticky mess.
At a later date, Microsoft will add other competitors to the list, making it a win-win situation for customers who were thinking about switching but had a hard time justifying the expense. The switch makes sense if you compare the products, and these incentives will help businesses who have realized that make an easier transition.
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 features over “1,000 new features and enhancements”, including Office add-ins that create a seamlessly integrated working environment for businesses. It provides flexible deployment options, on-premise or through Microsoft partner-hosted solutions, and its high scalability means you can upgrade your business without having to upgrade your ERP.
