ERP consultants, Panorama Consulting Group, conducted a recent survey entitled 2010 ERP Report. Over 1,600 organizations responded with 31% located in the United States. The report includes data on a wide variety of ERP solutions including Tier I (SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft, etc.), Tier II (Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Syspro, etc.) and Tier III (Accpac, Peachtree, QuickBooks, etc.) solutions. The key findings show that Microsoft Dynamics has held its own, growing slightly from 14 – 15% while SAP & Oracle’s growth rate dropped 3 percent.  With the current economic downturn, a small increase gives Microsoft Dynamics an edge!

The 2010 ERP Report stated that ERP Implementations consumed 20% less as a percentage of annual revenue compared to the same survey taken in 2008.  It also listed the Top Ten Traits of Best-in-Class ERP Initiatives.  These included:

    1. Focus on business processes and requirements first.
    2. Don’t rush the ERP evaluation process
    3. Focus on achieving a healthy ERP ROI, including post-implementation performance measurement.
