Microsoft Listens to Customers Requests and Extends Support for Dynamics GP V8. But Are You Running Out of Time?

    Email | Print

Microsoft is about to expire mainstream support for Dynamics GP version 8.0. This means that current Dynamics GP customers who are using the older V8.0 of Dynamics GP will no longer be able to rely on Microsoft for support of their ERP system. Microsoft had originally planned to expire support for V8.0 on October 9, 2007, but because of the overwhelming requests from customers and partners they decided to extend the expiration date to October 13, 2009.

If you are currently using Dynamics GP V8.0, don’t worry: you will still be able to work with one of Microsoft’s Certified Partners for support.  However, now may be a good time to think about upgrading to the current version.  Dynamics GP V8.0 was released back in 2004 and has since been replaced with the current version, Dynamics GP V10. As you can imagine, there have been several upgrades made to the features and functionality in the newer version. To find out about the changes made in V10, you can review the Enhancements Brochure which outlines all the cool new features. And for more helpful information about V10, you can visit our website for Brochures, White Papers, and other module-specific documents that we have made available to help you with your research.

So, if your company is not using Dynamics GP to run your business, what are you waiting for? Wouldn’t you feel better knowing that you are using a system from one of the most trusted names in software?  A company who listens to their customers? And, has Certified Partners located throughout the U.S to support your system now and in the future?

    1. Shane,

Elaborate coverage on why it’s a good time for Customers to migrate from V8 to the latest.

      Thanks

    2. Shane says:

Reasons users would want to upgrade to the current version of Dynamics GP is because after October 13, 2009 Microsoft will no longer be providing tax or regulatory updates for Dynamics GP V8.0. Microsoft will also discontinue direct support for Dynamics GP V8.0. And, when users upgrade they will be able to take advantage of the new features that have been added to the current version, V10, which are listed in the above “Enhancement Brochure” document in the original post.

      Thanks for the comment.
